This maple seed is known as a Helicopter seed or spinning Jenny , because it twirls as it falls from the Maple tree. After many coats of clay, the seed pod is then kiln fired to burn off the organic matter leaving a solid 999 fine silver piece that is a perfect copy of the original seed pod with all its glories & imperfections.
