Walnuts grow all over England, & I have a large walnut tree in my garden. No pesticides or nitrogens are ever used on or around the tree, so the walnuts are completely organic. I have dyed this lovely soft merino with these walnuts & the resulting colour is a deep saturated warm chestnut brown. Dye take up may be slightly blotchy in places because I don’t manipulate the fibre too much in the dye pot. Packed in my biodegradable cello bags in 25 gram bundles.
