A Stunning Vintage Yardley Hand held Powder Compact / Cosmetic Make-up Mirror with the iconic Lavender Seller image, one of Yardley’s most famous images. The compact depicts the Lady carrying a basket of lavender acompanied by 2 children & dog. The image is protected by a clear celluloid cover The gold tone powder well is designed with a small hole to enable easy removal of powder pans. The tiny hole is typical of Yardley compacts. The base is decorated with a banded circular cartouche. A wonderful handbag accessory. C 1960s. The compact contains the original powder sifter. The clasp & hinges both working perfectly. Can be used for hard or loose powder. The Yardley powder compact diameter measures 7 cm (2 3/4 in) & is 1.3 cm (1/2 in) deep. Weighs 70 g (2.3 oz). It is in excellent vintage condition. The compact overall shows some signs of wear due to its age, such as light scratches. Does not appear to have been used much. The mirror glass is in excellent condition & gives a wonderful crystal clear reflection. Please view photos for condition.
