Vanity Fair powder compact, from the 1950s. Gold colour metal. Circular. Floral lace style pattern to top. Plain bottom. Inside is a mirror, metal flap with hinge & catch, with ‘Vanity Fair Trade Mark Made in Britain’ in white lettering in the middle. The powder well contains a mesh disc. No powder. No puff. Previously used. External size, including hinge & catch, 8.6cm, 3 3/8 inches. Condition: Hinges & catches in working order. Exterior: There is a pale blemish mark on the top-middle where some of the pattern has disappeared. This mark is absolutely smooth & seems to be part of the surface (not on top of the surface), so maybe it is a production fault in the pattern? The top also has some small fine scratches, & other little marks. The bottom of the compact has fine scuff lines commensurate with age. Interior: Mirror excellent. Minor marks around the metal edges. The top of the metal flap has wear the the lettering, some small tarnish marks, & a little light wear overall. Minor wear to the back of the flap. Minor scuff marks in the powder well.
