A Stunning Vintage Margaret Rose Hand held Powder Compact / Cosmetic Make-up Mirror with an attractive Hand Embroidered Purple & Green Violet Flower design on a white fabric background on the cover. The floral embroidery is protected by a clear celluloid cover. Says Margaret Rose England on the back. The back is a gold tone machine engraved concentric circles design. The hand sewn motif makes this a particularly desirable Margaret Rose powder compact. A wonderful handbag accessory. C 1960/70s. The embroidered compact has an empty powder well, which is removable. The clasp & hinges both working perfectly. Can be used for hard or loose powder. The Margaret Rose powder compact diameter measures 7.5 cm (3 in) & is 8 mm (5/16 in) deep. Weighs 65 g (2.3 oz). It is in excellent vintage condition overall. The compact shows some signs of wear due to its age, such as light scratches. The hand embroidered Violets cover is in excellent condition.
