Vintage Italian Avem Murano Glass ~ | 2 Hand Blown Ruby Red & Gold Aventurine Art Glass Baskets/Open Salt Dishes 1950's Mcm Collectibles

We are pleased to offer a set of two beautiful hand blown AVeM (Arte Vetraria Muranese) Murano art glass baskets. These ruby red small decorative baskets feature ribbed spirals in the red & gold aventurine ornate glass - gold speck infused clear glass - rims & leaf shaped handles. The pontil has been ground & polished to produce a flat surface for the base. Besides having a gorgeous sparkle & luster for display, these were used before as small open salt dishes, or salt cellars, until the salt shakers of today’s tableware replaced them. These ruby red glass baskets are about 3.25 tall, 3 long & 2.5 wide. They’re in overall excellent vintage shape - only one flaw has been found. On the slightly larger basket, there is a nick to one of the crimped leaf tips on the handle. It is not very noticeable due to the elaborate design (see last picture). This set of ruby red & aventurine glass baskets would make a wonderful addition to a fine collection of Murano art glass or ruby red glass collectibles. For daily enjoyment, they could be used on a table as very eye-catching salt dishes, or as sparkling art pieces all by themselves displayed on a sunny window shelf.
