An unusual & beautifully detailed copper plaque, with the profile of a robed man in relief accompanied by Islamic script. I believe it depicts Ibn Sina or Avicenna, )around 930 to 1037 CE), a polymath from the Islamic Golden Age & regarded as one of the founders of modern medicine. I’ve listed the plaque as 1960’s or so in date - there’s a little patination & surface wear, but nothing too serious. Measures 23cm across & 2.5cm deep approx.
