This beautifully-formed cut-glass bottle is as functional as it is eye-catching, & offers a great option for storing liquids in your bathroom or on your dressing table. The vessel is composed of solid glass with a pleasing weight to it, with the main body formed in a tulip shape covered in geometric patterns. The neck, being narrow, makes this bottle perfect for decanting liquids such as perfume or rose-water. Alternatively it could be used as a very small vase, to hold one or two sprigs collected from your walks, or herbs snipped in the garden. The lid is a glass stopper with a ball-shaped top, which has been cut with numerous bevels to form a polyhedron. The result is a sparkling orb with catches the light, & looks particularly lovely as you walk past it’s glittering surface. There is some slight discolouration to some of the bevels & the stem of the stopper, presumably from coloured perfume having been stored inside. This style of cut-glass bottle was most commonly produced in the 1920s-1940s, although the date of manufacture is not present on this piece.
