A gorgeous George W. Horner & Co. Ltd. vintage confectionery or biscuit tin, made in the town of Chester-Le-Street, County Durham. Features an inky black water & sky, with dark pink, red & white floating water lilies & white hibiscus flower branches on a warm brown stem with some green & gold leaves. The water ripples are made of swirls of gold dots, which also appear on a gold scallop pattern surrounding the top of the tin. The lid has a lovely bright six-sided red tin handle which looks very much like wood! The lid also features three hibiscus buds with green & yellow leaves & warm brown stem. A circle of gold dots also surrounds the lid rim, along with a thick gold edge. Measures: Tin: 6 3/4 tall with lid 5 1/12 tall without lid 4 1/4 diameter wide on base, 4 1/2 diameter at opening 4 9/12 in circumference at widest part Lid: 4 1/2 wide in excellent condition, except some scratches on the base Hallmark: The decorative design on this container is the copy right of GEORGE W.
