This unusual vintage cosmetic consists of a beautiful engine turned silver toned compact from Bourjois It is in good vintage condition although there is some aging & patina in places ( please see pictures) It measures around 5cm across. Bourjois was founded in 1863 in Paris & produced perfume, cosmetics & skin care. They were always said to be products of quality & to this day are still known as such! I believe this piece to be from around the late 1920’s to early 30’s. There’s still traces of the pink rouge in the hinges. The beautiful little silver pot, with an egyptian character states Paris & Newyork underneath. This would make an excellent stage, or it could make a stunning decoration or addition to a makeup or beauty shop display or for a vintage makeup collector or enthusiast.
