Up for sale is this stunning vintage 1950s hibiscus print taffeta & lace sleeveless evening dress. The bodice is unlined but does feature padded cups (see photo 9), which could be removed if desired. The bodice is also boned to provide structure. The dress has removable velvet rouleau shoulder straps, which are affixed with metal press studs. The long, full skirt section is adorned with horizontal bands of black floral lace. The skirt features an attached net underskirt which could be starched to add stiffness & volume. Fastens with a metal Lightning zip to the centre back. Please see my other listings for more vintage garments. Fabric: yellow & purple hibiscus print acetate taffeta with floral synthetic lace inserts & velvet straps. Brand: N/A, appears to be homemade Period: 1950s Condition: Very good condition. The fabric is wonderfully vibrant & free of stains, discolouration & fading. However, there is a vertical hand repair to the side of the bodice, as shown in photo 10.
