Trinket Box Or Salt Cellar, Lidded Jar, Ceramic Stoneware

Cute little keep sake pot, made from speckled clay, lidded jar or salt cellar. A perfect little jar for keeping huge treasures ;-) , little secrets, or memories. But is also great for kitchen use, like a salt cellar. It is handmade by me on my potter’s wheel. Please be aware, this is made to order & will take a couple of weeks. To make these jars, I use the wheel to throw the shape. After a day or so the jar is what we call ’leatherhard’ & is ready to be opened, trimmed & given a some nice carvings & footring. The pot has to dry for another few days before it is ready to be bisque fired to almost 1000 C! Then it is time for some glazing & the pot is fired again, this time to 1260 C. It will take about 36 hrs before the kiln is cool enough so it can be opened! SInce the pot is high fired it is waterproof & dishwasher safe, although I recommend handwash since dishwasher detergents can be harsh & ceramics easily get chipped in a dishwasher. Size: approx 7 cm diameter & 8,5 cm high (including the little top). But size & shape may vary due to the fact these are handmade for you.
