If you like small light weight earrings, you will like the ease of wearing this size earring. These small earrings use black & orange enamel over a clear base. Each pair of earrings is handmade - from forming the copper base to firing the enamel with a torch. Earrings usually have some variation, because the earrings are individually crafted The process begins with forming a copper base. The enameling is accomplished by heating the copper until it is red hot, causing the enamel power to melt & adhere to the base. Each earring is heated between 3 & 6 times to achieve the enamel surface the artist is trying to create. After completing the enameling, the artist will assemble each set of earrings. Earrings usually have some variation because each earring is made individually. The variations prove that the earrings are handmade. The earring wires are sterling silver. They are handmade in our studio, as part of the finishing process. The earring wires come with back guards. We make every effort to take photos that represent each item’s true colors & construction.
