The Red Yucca is a member of the century plant family with yucca-like leaves & red flowers that are on long, slender stalks. The flowers are tubular & coral-red. The flower stalks are up to 5 feet tall. It is native to Texas & northeastern Mexico. Adaptable to a variety of soils. leaves are blue-green in summer & plum-colored in the winter. They have whitish fibers along the margins. The red yucca is grown as a drought resistant low-maintenance plant in warm regions & in desert regions in the southern United States. Hardy in zones 5-10.
