Ignite Red dye is derived from the botanical, Pterocarpus santalinus (Red Sandalwood). This can be used to produce red/purples & shades of dark pink. Dye modifiers can result in many other unexpected colour shades. It is always recommended to first wash the fabric prior to dyeing, & when using cotton, an aluminium (Alum or Aluminium acetate) based mordant generally results in better dyeing effectiveness.
