This is a lovely powder compact in its original presentation box, manufactured by Jarvaise. Jarvaise was an American cosmetics brand trading as Jarvaise Perfumer Inc, yet made by The Heinrich Chemical Company, Minneapolis. Powder compacts were manufactured from 1923-1927 approximately. Due to inadequate management & poor marketing the company was purchased by La Pompadour in 1929, & sadly by 1933 Jarvaise products ceased to exist. This powder compact has a beautifully decorated lid & is complete with it’s original box. Shiny metal case, manufactured by the Pallas Manufacturing Company in 1927. Octagon shaped. Double compact with rouge & powder compartments. Mirror flips open. Puffs are present but are in used condition. The powder compact is stamped Jarviase Paris & New York. Dimensions: 5cms in diameter. The powder compact is in good vintage condition & displays very well. There are some very fine surface marks & a small ding at 12 o’clock. I have tried to show it but it is very small. Some rouge remains, the powder section has the tray remaining. Lovely clear mirror. Firm hinge & secure clasp. Puffs are used. Presentation box is in good condition, some feint marks in places.
