Extremely rare powder compact, manufactured by Fillkwik. Oblong shape. Teal blue/green enamel case with a slightly stepped edge in dark brown/black enamel to lid & base. Chrome case. Fillkwik trademark stamped to powder well rim. Complete with sifter. Size: 3 1/4 x 2 1/4 Era: 1920’s - early 1930’s The Fillkwik Company of Attleboro, MA, manufactured powder compacts for a short period of time during the 1920’s & 1930’s. To find a Fillkwick brand is difficult for 2 reasons: 1. They operated for such a short period & 2. They manufactured powder compacts for other cosmetic companies who then put their brand name on them, California Perfume Company (now called Avon) & also some period advertisements have suggested Roger & Gallet, Coty, APLI & Leigh. This powder compact is in very good condition. No chips to enamel. Very light wear to chrome. Mirror has some very feint cloudiness, but does retain a clear reflective image. No dents or dings.
