A Stunning & uncommon Stratton Purple Chrysanthemum Flower Clam Shell Powder Compact with interior make up mirror & an attractive vivid lavender purple coloured enamel image of two flower stems. The combination of the purples, yellows & green enamels used to created the floral image really pops against the purple background. The compact is the rare triangular shape known as the Clam Shell design. A wonderful handbag accessory. The purple floral image is as bright as the day it was made. The back is an attractive gold tone lined patterned metal surface with Stratton, Made in England on the back. This design was produced in the 1960s. The compact still has remains of the original powder inside. The clasp, hinges & springs are all working perfectly. The mirror compact diameter measures 8 cm (3 1/8 in) wide & 8 cm (3 1/8 in) high & is 9 1.5 cm (1/2 in) deep. Weighs 80 g (2.8 oz). It is in excellent vintage condition overall. The mirror is in very good condition. The compact overall shows some signs of wear due to its age, such as slight surface scuffs, scratching & wear consistent with normal use. The enamel image is in excellent condition. The glass is in excellent condition & gives a wonderful crystal clear reflection. Please view photos for condition.
