This is a gorgeous bright & Stylised purple enamelled cross hatch 1950’s star backed powder compact. The powder puff is branded Yardley but sadly broken in half. The purple enamel appears to be one of the rarer designs, however please note that the glass has slight tarnishing & verdigris & there are some surface scratches/marks on the mirror. It does contain original product though. This would still make a lovely birthday gift for a vintage cosmetics collector. Or someone who likes to restore old makeup compacts. The diameter of the piece is approximately 70mm & it is set in a gold tone, presumed to be brass base metal that has been engine turned.
