I’ve entitled these Salt & Pepper shakers ‘The Shakeful Dead!’ as part of my Rockerbilia range .The Skulls are the actuaI salt & pepper containers which lift out of the guitar playing skeletal body!I carved the original models in clay & plaster.I then made plaster piece moulds ready for the slip casting process( liquid clay). Each set has four Kiln firings to achieve the definitive result, including a seperate firing for the platinum lustre applied to the guitars on the pickups.The skulls are given a dry ‘bone’ appearance by wiping back the glaze on the surface , which adds to the realism!
