Pua is flower in Hawaiian, & numerous songs & dances have been created to celebrate the many flowers of Hawaii. Pualei is also the name of the girl who posed for this painting from 1990. Dressed in traditional Princess Kaiulani muumuu, she sits in contemplation, surrounded by hibiscus, next to a gold vase full of all kinds of flowers: some Hawaiian, some from far away places, some fantastical. To me, it is a quiet painting; I created it during a time of great chaos, & it’s creation became that quiet place I could go to. This is a giclee, a print on canvas, from the original painting, & stretched around canvas bars to order. I stretch & sign them, (personalized, if you like). It’s suitable for framing - no glass, please or just run a colorful ribbon (or dried maile lei) around the edge to cover the staples & hang it as is. However you display Pualei, make it your quiet place to go to when the day is full of chaos & turmoil. Enjoy, & Aloha. Pualei 8 X 10 Giclee On Canvas
