Sowing the seeds Sow june to Sept, Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed fine seed compost in pots or trays. Keep at a temperature of between 15-20oC (59-68oF). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged. Germination will usually take 14-30 days. As soon as you see the seeds start to chit (germinate), lightly cover them with a thin layer of vermiculite or fine seed compost. Flowering March to May the following year.
