Because of its brilliant color, it is widely used in borders, rock & alpine gardens, & containers. They are reseeding plants that can also be started indoors till planting in the garden in the fall. The blooms are large & bowl shaped, & easily attract butterflies & bees. These plants do well in rich, dry, or moist well drained soil & can tolerate drought.
