DAYS TO GERMINATION: 7-12 days at 65-75oF (18-24oC) SOWING: Transplant - Sow into 128-cell flats 6-8 weeks before planting outdoors or into a covered structure. Cover seeds very lightly. Bottom water or mist to avoid displacing seeds & soil. Harden-off & transplant outdoors after danger of frost has passed, or transplant directly into a covered structure. Direct seed - Sow in early spring when soil is cool & a light frost is still possible, or late autumn. Surface-sow & keep soil evenly moist until seedlings emerge. Pinching plants is not necessary nor beneficial. Iceland poppies perform best in cooler conditions - below 70oF. Bloom production & quality declines as temperatures rise.
