This gorgeous poppy is a relative of the Izmir India black. It has deep, dark purple flowers that appear black at dawn & dusk, with some flowers having beautiful fringed petals. This flower is very easy to grow. Simply throw some seeds on the ground in late fall or early spring, gently rake into the soil & in 7-8 weeks, without hardly any tending to at all, you will have the most beautiful garden that is sure to garner many compliments from friends, family & neighbours! Under ideal conditions this poppy grows tall, reaching 5-6 feet in height, & produces large deep purple, almost black flowers. Poppies are self-seeding, giving them the convenience of a perennial.
