I bought these two bottles from a vide grenier held at Puivert below the castle walls. Not sure what the larger bottle held but the use of benzene by a droguerie is an intriguing thought. I know that Benzedrine was used from 1933 onwards as an inhalant for nasal & respiratory conditions. The mind boggles! These particular bottles are in very good vintage condition with the usual caveats for age such as the damaged label. Nevertheless, they are a timeless piece of historical decor & would add a fascinating insight into pre war French life to any display shelf.
