Pair Of Vintage Blue Glass Medicine Bottles - Apothecary Diuromil Masons Wine Essences

Two vintage medicine bottles; one in deep cobalt blue glass, the other in a paler blue. The cobalt blue bottle is round, the other flattened, both with smooth sides & raised text. The darker bottle held Diuromil which was used in Hospitals & Clinics for the relief of pain caused by rheumatism, fibrositis, lumbago, gout, etc; this is likely to date to the 1950s. The other bottle held Masons Wine Essences, made in Nottingham, which was marketed ‘for the immediate production of unfermented temperance wines’; this dates to c.1910. Each bottle measures 13cm (5) in height. Combined weight: 283g (10oz). Both are in lovely vintage condition although slightly dulled with age & surface deposits.
