I saw a lovely mauve flower in the herb garden & realised it was a chive flower & I thought it had lovely texture & shape & so I made a mould from it, not sure as to what it would look like as a piece of jewellery I thought I would try it in some fine silver metal clay (99.9% silver, versus sterling which s 92.5% silver) & I decided that an oval shape lent itself well to the shape of the flowers. I used a nice solid simple belcher chain with it as it has a simplicity to it that works well with the pendant. If you have not come across metal clay before it starts out life as fine particles of metal that is combined with a binder & then it can be shaped & sculpted & folded & all manner of things, it is then dried & fired whereupon the metal particles fuse together, great stuff, first created by the Japanese & now made in every metal imaginable all over the world. This pendant is made using fine 99.9% silver metal clay. The pendant is 2.7cm high & 3.2cm wide, in inches that is just over & inch by an inch & a quarter. The chain is 47cm long or just over 18 inches & it has an easy to use good sized lobster/carabiner clasp. ALL of my ITEMS are gift wrapped!
