HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR COVER FOR THE BEST FIT: For the best fit, pillow covers should be smaller than the insert. If you choose to order your cover the same size as your insert it will be loose All of my pillows are photographed using feather pillow inserts. If you use stiff synthetic fill inserts, the fit & look will be different. If you do not want to use feather inserts I recommend a high quality feather alternative, or kapok. Please check my insert listings for options If you have special requests contact me BEFORE placing your order Example: 20x20 insert - 18x18 cover / 50x50cm insert - 47x47cm cover 22x22 insert - 20x20 cover / 55x55cm insert - 50x50cm cover For all other sizes in the drop down menu, order the size of your insert. The cover will be 1-2 inches smaller HOW MUD CLOTH IS MADE: Mud Cloth (or Bglanfini) is a 100% handmade textile which is produced by the Bambara/Bamana people of Mali in West Africa The cotton is hand-harvested & spun. The cotton is very rustic & is not chemically treated. You may even find bits of the cotton husk which have not been removed! Mud cloth is made by hand-weaving long strips of cotton using a primitive weaving tool. These long strips are then stitched together to create a large cloth The cloth is then dyed by submerging it in a vat of fermented organic material such as tea leaves, leaves from trees, tree bark, & fermented iron-rich mud The cloth is removed from the vat & left to dry in the sun. To achieve darker colors, the cloths must be submerged in the dye vat & dried several times, this process can take many weeks The motifs are often hand-painted using a thick paste of mud, either by hand or using a stencil. Mud Cloth can be seen with traditional motifs & also very modern designs which have come about due to demand from abroad WHAT TO ExPECT: Due to the fact that this is a handmade fabric, there will be variations in color & texture Mud cloth is NOT produced in a factory & it is not bleached so the colors are not extreme white/black The charm of these fabrics is that there are imperfections. The designs are hand-drawn on the fabric rather than printed so expect there to be an organic & irregular design repeat A set of mud cloth pillows will never be identical due to the hand-printed patterns but I do my best to cut them as similarly as possible CARING FOR YOUR MUDCLOTH: Important to note is that mud Cloth is NOT color fast. If it is made wet, the color will bleed & lighten unpredictably If it is washed, it will lighten a lot & it will shrink It is recommended that you dry clean or carefully spot clean only as needed MATERIALS in THIS PILLOW: Mud cloth is made from 100% cotton The secondary material on the pillow is white cotton The pillow is fitted with a hidden zipper IMPORTANT: THE INSERT IS NOT INCLUDED - check my insert listings if you need an insert ALL SALES ARE FINAL - if you have questions, please ask PRIOR to purchase I make all pillows to order.
