I like this size hoop for ease of wearing. I love making orgnic jewelry - hoping for a good reaction. Organic jewelry is a hopeful process where I set up the controlable component parts, firing the base & basic idea, then adding the magic or uncontrolled components. The final firing is the proof of good or bad choices. With practice you expect to achieve your vision, but sometines it doesn’t work. I find these earrings are very appealing. A clear base so some of the copper comes through, with turquoise & green wisps interacting to form a feathered result. Added a complementary metalic teal colored bead to give them a little more pizzazze (an attractive combination of vitality & glamour.) Each pair of earrings is handmade - from forming the copper base to firing the enamel with a torch. The process begins with forming a copper base. The enameling is accomplished by heating the copper until it is red hot, causing the enamel power to melt & adhere to the base. Each earring is heated between 3 & 6 times to achieve the enamel surface the artist is trying to create. After completing the enameling, the artist will assemble each set of earrings. Earrings usually have some variation because each earring is made individually. The variations prove that the earrings are handmade. The earring wires are sterling silver. They are handmade in our studio, as part of the finishing process. The earring wires come with back guards. We make every effort to take photos that represent each item’s true colors & construction.
