Our sustainable and reusable organic Gingham gift bags bring summertime fun to wrapping smaller gifts, whatever the season. These charming little bags are handmade from woven organic cotton gingham. Sustainable and reusable, they are quick and easy to use for smaller gifts. Gingham reminds us of picnics and summer dresses, but the classic checked pattern works well for any season or celebration. The bags can either be re-gifted or used as storage for items such as buttons and safety pins.Each bag is held firmly closed with an organic cotton drawstring and metal cord stop. They come in two different sizes and can be matched with the Gingham wraps for a co-ordinated look. Our organic Gingham gift bags come in a choice of colourways. We hope to add more colours to the collection in due course. Currently, we stock the traditional gingham colours of red and blue, plus green. The red and blue bags have silver effect and the green bags have gold effect metal cord stops (please note - silver cord stops contain nickel). The organic cotton fabric for our Gingham gift bags has been sourced with both the environment and worker welfare in mind.The fabric is supplied by the Organic Textile Company, who have a personal relationship with their supplier in Kerala. Together they ensure that the fabric is fairly traded as well as organic.The weavers in Kerala hand dye the cotton yarn using low impact dyes, before weaving it into gingham on small powerlooms. We hem the fabric squares with GOTS certified cotton thread. This ensures that the wraps are 100% organic, apart from the cord stop which is metal.All our packaging is plastic free and the bag tags are made from 100% recycled Kraft card. We send out parcels in 100% recycled card sleeves or boxes and only use eco-friendly paper tape. If a parcel needs padding, we use fabric offcuts or paper from parcels we ourselves have received.Please note: if you do need to launder a gift bag, we recommend handwashing, air drying and ironing on a cotton setting. Avoid machine washing as the metal cord stop may damage the machine drum.
