On offer is this lovely vintage novelty cruet set. The salt & pepper are in good condition overall, the silver shines up well still - light scuffs & scratches commensurate with age as well numerous discolored / darkened marks around their exterior. The glass liner unfortunately shows a number of small chips (please refer to images) around its outer edge as well as notable surface scratches but as shown all adding to the aged charm & character of the duo. They’re in the novelty form of eggs supported with three charming ball feet. The shaker features a screw-on top with a series of holes & ball finial - the interior is re-markedly clean still. The salt pot features a hinged top & retains its original glass liner which shows a frosted light brown color. Also present is the original salt spoon with matching hallmarks. Hallmarked for Birmingham, 1924 & the maker Charles Wilkes. They measure a charming 63mm in total height, the salt spoon 62mm in length & weigh collectively 95g not including the glass liner (122.9g including the glass).
