These inks come in 20ml glass vials with cork stoppers. Our packaging is eco-conscious. Foraged from nature, our botanical ink blends are delicate & unique. Hand made in small batches using nature’s victuals & traditional methods, our inks are exclusively crafted in Ashburnham, Sussex blended using rainwater from Sussex skies. We do not include any heavy metals into our inks at all or any chemicals whatsoever. They are mordant free & only contain natural preservative & thickener. We do not add any ‘false’ colours into our inks either such as indigo etc. The colour produced is purely from the plant, flower or bark & our extraction & mixing technique. Our inks transform over time & can be intensified by layering. You will notice the colours can be subtle to start with but if you wait a little time, the colour will appear stronger. The inks can also change by using different paper or brushes. Sadly, our inks are not suitable to be used with fountain pens but do produce distinctive results when used with brushes given the subtle shades & transformations in colour. Please remember to shake the ink before use as some separation may occur. We use fire, rainwater & nature to produce these wonderful colours. As the ingredients for our inks come from nature, it means that many blends are seasonal. Copper, rose petal, charcoal & hibiscus are our standard blends, although many others can be made to order dependent upon nature’s availability. Some of our seasonal ingredients include: Pine bark, black ivy berry, blackberry, strawberry, dandelion root, rose hip, lichen, oak gall, walnut, chalk, acorn, gorse flower, red onion, linden blossom, dock leaves, broom stems & birch tree bark. Please use a UV-fixative if you want to keep your inks from transforming too much & also remember to agitate them by shaking thoroughly before use. We are passionate about all things natural & non-harmful to nature. Many traditional inks have harmful chemicals within them. We want to change this practice so that artists, craftspeople & experimenters can uncover the wonderful subtle colours that are all around us in nature. We respect the rule of foraging so that most is left for the natural world which is why our inks are exclusive & not made in huge batches & this is why they change with the seasons for availability also. We use a natural preservative however you may notice on some blends that sometimes they can acquire a tiny amount of mould, there is nothing wrong with the ink with this as it shows they are natural. We recommend just taking this out with a cotton bud. To extend the shelf-life of the inks, put them somewhere cool & out of sunlight. As in nature, some things are harmful to us if ingested so we would ask you to keep the inks away from children & pets. Please visit our website for more images of the colours. Please also remember that if you repeat an order later on, there may be variation in colour as each batch is unique. You can find us on Instagram as well
