(Passiflora incarnata), the hardiest in all Passion flower vines. Maypop is perennial climbing vine. Beautiful purple with hint of blue flowers that attracts bees & other pollinators. The fruit stays green in color & when it is ready it will fall onto the ground. To eat the fruit, remove the shell & the seeds. I usually use a strainer to collect the juices of the fruit to make a drink. The juice collected can be added to other drinks & deserts as well for scent & flavor just like a Vanilla extract. Several fruits need to be collected in order to make just one cup as the juice in the fruit is very little. Even if you grow this as ornaments the beautiful flowers will give your garden the exotic vibes for you & pollinators to adore & enjoy. Plant after the last danger of frost in the spring. Will need trellises & thrives in full sun. Should be planted in large containers or directly sow in a permanent location. Mulch in the fall for colder climates & it should come back again in the spring. Hardy to USDA zones 5-9. Seeds are carefully hand picked. 10 seeds per package. Grow the seeds according to your climate zone. Maypop Passion Flower Seeds
