In France, there’s an old wive’s tale that magpies would voice a warning when wolves came near to the village. To thank them, they would tie shrub bundles of heath & laurel in trees. Here, we see our lucky birds making off with their gifts of herb & shrub bundles. This is a giclee print of an original gouache & watercolor painting on a wood oval.
