Inspired by a seed pod bursting open, this large pendant is created out of solid sterling silver & polished to a bright shine. This pendant has a nice solid weight to it, & looks great worn on a shorter chain as a statement necklace or has enough presence to be worn on a long chain. You have your choice of chain style & length when checking out. MATERIALS & PROCESS Solid sterling silver This pendant is the largest from my silver seed collection. This is one of my few cast collections. I first made a master of my design, constructing it argentium silver & cleaning it up to perfection. A rubber mold is made & now I can have it cast in sterling silver, creating multiples. The collection is a limited edition because I am finishing each piece by hand. INSPIRATION & SYMBOLISM I love gardening it is my biggest source of inspiration. I am drawn into all the little details & symbolism literally blooming all around me. As a metalsmith & jewellery design I am fascinated with capturing the moment & transforming it into sterling silver. Seeds & seed pods are a prominent element in my designs. The seed represents hope, perseverance, & potential. It is a symbol of encouragement & I find myself designing over & over again with seed imagery. MEASUREMENTS The pendant is 5.5 cm x 2.5 cm in size (approx 2 1/8 x 1) It looks great as a statement pendant worn on a regular length chain & has enough presence to be worn on a longer chain.
