This bag has been created using a strong panama cotton canvas that’s suited for everyday life. The bag features a strong lightweight herringbone webbing that’s use for the handles which are long enough for over the shoulder & yet short enough to be carried by hand without the bag dragging on the floor, & the same herringbone webbing has also been used for the lip for extra strength & features my label sewn underneath for the finishing touch. The finished tote bag measures 16 x 16, weighing approximately 92 grams & will fold or roll-up small enough to fit into a pocket or handbag. This bag can be hand or machine washed, tumble dried & ironed at low heat. All of the items are hand crafted by myself & sewn on a Singer 99K machine. I believe that this traditional method brings a more personal touch to everything I produce, this in turn reflects in the quality & makes every item unique in its own way. My full range of items can be found here https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/CushionsByJohn I do not use the overlocking method for any of the seams as I find its not strong & durable enough, so all seams are folded over & tucked in upon themselves to prevent any fraying from vigorous use. These bags are cut from fabric on the roll, double sided & great care has been taken to ensure the pattern matches all round when possible, otherwise be aware pattern placement can vary slightly.
