Either put a potted plant in it or add pea gravel under the soil to prevent the soil from getting waterlogged. See the colour description above. HOW I MAKE MY VASES I rolled out stoneware clay then cut out the 5 side & a bottom. When my sections were stiff but not dry I put the sides together with clay slip & put on the bottom. I fired it in my electric kiln to a bisque ware. I painted 4 glazed on layering 2 on the outside & 2 on the inside. Along with a full kiln of pottery this bowl was fired at a temperature of about 2900. I enjoy making my pottery in my basement studio in central Canada not far from Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes.
