The outer clay protects means that the seeds are inaccessible to ants & birds, and once sufficient water has permeated the clay, the seeds inside begin to germinate - helped along by the nutrients and minerals contained within the ball. The chilli powder continues to deter slugs and snails while the seed ball slowly degrades and the seeds sprout. Each box (made from 100% recycled card) contains 6 seed balls, plus a little card insert to explain what the balls are and how to use them. Incredibly easy to use - simply scatter on soil or compost (no digging needed) and nature will do the rest! One box will cover 1-2 pots. Use 6 boxes per square metre in a garden. Best to scatter in Spring or Autumn.
