Four late 19th century game/meat hooks from the cold-room of the kitchen of a large Chateau here in the Loire Valley. They are hand forged steel hooks (Allonges) which were used for the hanging of game, venison & wild boar. in today’s Chateau-chic style kitchen they can still serve you well if only to hang utensils & herbs from.
