This large planter is handmade with a warm terra cotta clay & fired twice in the kiln to a very high temperature. After throwing the planter on the potter’s wheel a white slip is poured over half of the pot. When the slip is dry, the blue & white Asian orchid design is applied. After the first firing a clear glaze is applied over the flower design & the pot is fired again to a very high temperature. I love how the finished shiny blue & white pattern contrasts with the matte red terra-cotta clay. The planter measures 7 1/2 to 8 inches at the top diameter x 5 inches in height.
