Wheel-thrown ceramic pot with a spherical shape. Unique & decorative hand-made pottery, with a stable base. Part of the pot was left bare, allowing the soda kiln to work its magic & color it. It has a drainage hole to keep your plants healthy. The pot is 5 inches wide. HOW IT WAS MADE Each of the pottery pieces I make are unique. I generally use the wheel, & create the initial shape & form, & I use a variety of clays (such as porcelain, bmix, & some dark clays that look beautiful when fired). I then trim the pieces, & sometimes carve into them, before finally, glazing them. This vase was thrown on the wheel, using a dark clay. Once bisqued, I poured dark shino glaze on the pot in oval patterns. Part of the clay was left bare. This was fired in a soda kiln, which colors the bare clay into a dark bronze-brown color.
