Bright red summer/autumn colour! It is a great plant for adding to prairie type plantings, cottage gardens, rockeries etc. It does well in moist but well drained soils in full sun or part shade & can be placed at the middle of the border, but is quite tolerant of other soil types & moisture. It grows to around 1.5m high & 0.5m across, producing narrow, erect, mid-green, pleated leaves from which emerge flowering spikes with sprays of vivid red blooms, from August to September.
