This is a beautiful item, a silver salt shovel with an unusual ornate handle, decorated with lines of oak leaves. It measures approximately 13.2 cm long, & weighs 17.9g. The handle is stick silver, & is hollow. It has a full English hallmark, dating it to Birmingham 1825. It has a maker’s mark T&P, most probably for the silversmith Taylor & Perry. It is in very good vintage condition, with no scratches or breaks. It has not been cleaned to reserve the aged patina of the metal.
