A tin of wildflower seed balls in collaboration with artist Yvonne Cooper, inspired by the wildflowers growing outside of her studio in Devon. Yvonne Cooper has painted a canvas for Seedball called ‘Here Is Where All The Wildflowers Grow’.We’ve taken a section of this painting to create this totally gorgeous design for our Artist’s Meadow Tin, with the seed mix being of those flowers from the painting. The perfect gift of wildflowers for those gardeners and loved ones in your life, or as a simple gift for those who love bees and butterflies. Help to spread cheer to their gardens! Ideal as an eco friendly christmas gift, stocking filler, or as your secret santa present! not given Each seed ball contains around 30 seeds per ball from a mix of Common Poppy, Oxeye Daisy, Musk Mallow, Corn Marigold, Purple Field Scabious, Red Campion and White Cow Parsley. Our tins have 20 seed balls, enough to cover 1 metre square in a garden bed or 3-5 medium sized pots (leave at least 10cm between each ball). Best scattered in Spring or Autumn for the perfect growth. We make the balls ourselves from a mixture of UK wildflower seeds, clay, peat-free compost and chilli powder. The outer clay protects the seeds from ants, birds and mice, and once sufficient water has permeated the clay, the seeds inside begin to germinate - helped along by the nutrients and minerals contained within the ball. The chilli powder continues to deter slugs and snails while the seed ball slowly degrades and the seeds sprout. Wildflowers are naturally slow to grow and the balls can take 2-4 weeks to begin to sprout. Some will flower in the first year and others may not flower until the second year, but the display should keep getting better each year! The more they are initially watered, the quicker they will be to start to grow, although they will be ok to leave them to the rain to water them as well :)
