Art Deco sterling silver guilloche powder compact, silver gilt compact mirror with gold guilloche enamel lid, Albert Carter 1941 This is a gorgeous 1940s sterling silver gilt powder compact with a gold guilloche enamel lid. It measures approximately 7.5 cm in diameter. You’ll see in photo 4 that there’s a small area of enamel loss on the edge. Photo 5 shows that the catch is loose. I have left it as it is, but it should be possible to carefully push it back to form secure seal. I would recommend getting this done by a jeweller if you decide that this is what you’d like to do. The sterling silver is gilded on the base & inside. The compact has a good mirror & its original sifter & puff along with a light dusting of powder. The hallmarks in the base show it was made by Albert Carter in 1941. A stunning Art Deco powder compact.
