This large glass apothecary bottle or jar was part of a small lot of antique medical & apothecary glass that was found in Europe. This is among the largest apothecary bottles I have come across. The jar is probably English, & you can still see the thick gold labeling with the words Tr. SCILLAE. The liquid it once contained would likely have been used for homeopathic applications. This bottle has what is probably its original stopper. The frosted glass neck is slightly tapered & fits snugly & securely. The jar is in good condition, with light clouding here & there from use over time & you can see small imperfections & air bubbles in the blown glass, & the bottle has several small chips & fleabites around the neck opening. The bottom of the bottle is embossed W.T. Co.. It measures about 7 1/2 high without the stopper & 8 1/2 high with the stopper inserted. The bottom is roughly 2 7/8 in diameter. It weighs just under 1 pound. You get the apothecary bottle plus stopper for $59 with FREE shipping within the United States. I’ll gladly combine shipping with other items whenever possible.
