Antique Victorian Amethyst & Seed Pearl Necklace/Brooch

A stunning original antique Victorian amethyst & seed pearl necklace that also can be worn as a brooch. This beautiful piece is about 140 years old but is in immaculate condition. The very skilled goldsmith who created it, has allowed for it to be worn as a pendant around the neck or pinned on to a garment as a gorgeous brooch. The design is articulated to allow for a real sense of movement when worn. The main section comprises of a round rich deep purple amethyst, surrounded by seed pearls & set into the upper part of the frame. The lower swag of the frame moves independently & shows a garland of pearl encrusted leaves. The piece is finishes at the bottom with a single pear shaped amethyst dropper. At the top there is a pearl set bale to thread a chain through or alternatively this can be removed & the back features a straight & secure brooch pin. The entire item has been crafted out of 15ct yellow gold. The pendant comes complete with a 9ct yellow gold 20 chain to allow it to be worn as a necklace.
