Antique oval sterling silver powder compact, 935 silver & tortoiseshell twin powder compact, rare silver & tortoise shell compact This is a stunning early 20th century sterling silver & tortoiseshell powder compact. It measures apprxoximately 9 x 4.5 x 1 cm. It’s an oval shape with tortoiseshell lid & base. The edges of the compact have a beautiful scroll work design chased into the silver. The lid lifts to reveal a twin powder compartment both with the original sifters in place. The mirror is aged & cloudy but still provides an adequate reflection. The inside of the compact is also beautifully decorated with scrollwork. It’s in good antique condition with light signs of wear. A beautiful silver powder compact.
