ANTIQUE CALIFIG BOTTLE - California Fig Syrup Co An antique clear glass bottle with three bevelled sides, ‘Califig’ embossed on each side & ‘Successors to the California Fig Syrup Co’ on the front. Has a new natural cork stopper. Dates from the Edwardian or early 20th century era. Has a moulded lip. The base is embossed R 4. Syrup of figs was sold as a laxative in the Victorian & Edwardian days. The brand ‘Califig’ is still sold in the UK. Do you like old bottles? This is a good bottle with which to start a collection. Could be used in the bathroom for shampoo or bubble bath. Condition: Good, some surface patination, some internal marks (clean before use).
